As soon as I finished my original sample of Wanderlust Sweater I knew I needed a bright pink version! And with this version I decided to get really fun and creative with my yarn choice! I also decided to make this one slightly cropped (see modifications below). The slightly cropped length works great with skirts as well as high waisted jeans. I just love this version-It truly shows how versatile the pattern is and depending on your yarn and color you can make 2 of the same sweater and end up with vastly different results! What do you think of this Pop Rocks version?
Wanderlust Sweater pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry and Payhip.
Modifications:
The Collar, Cuffs, and Hem are all Tod DK (same yarn used in my original Wanderlust), but the Body and Sleeves are Birdie held double. (I was able to get gauge with Birdie held double.) All of the yarn is the color Pop Rocks, which is honestly the best hot pink! On the Body and Sleeves I knit 1 round in Tod DK before placing these on holders. I did this so that when I did the 3 needle BO the exposed seam would only be Tod DK. The only other modification is that I only knit the body to 11″ from the underarm-other than that everything is per pattern! I used exactly 2 skeins of Tod DK and 6 skeins of Birdie for the size 46.75″. Link to my project page on Ravelry can be found here.
P.S. My husband and I just got back from the most amazing weekend at the Daytona 500! It was our very first NASCAR race and we had literally the best time ever! These photos were taken from our hotel room right before we went to dinner. I will be sharing more about our weekend, but yes the temps were perfect for knitwear and yes I got to wear my knits! Can’t wait to show you more!
Okay this is scary. Daytona is my hometown! When I saw your pics, I thought, that looks like Daytona beach! Hope you had a great time. 💖
Heather we had the best time and the weather was absolutely perfect! Felt so good to be in the sunshine for a few days and lucky you that your hometown is super cool!
