As soon as I finished my original Rowdy Tee I knew I had to knit another one using this super special yarn that I had purchased at Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool. This yarn is by a company called Clean Cashmere, and they make yarn using 100% USA cashmere from a farm collective all across the country-so very cool! The yarn that I used for this version of my Rowdy Tee is called Prime in the color Pebble Gray and it is 50% wool 50% cashmere. (You can find out more about them on their website here.) Instead of holding 2 strands of lace weight yarn together to achieve a sport weight, I simply used a sport weight yarn! The resulting tee is the perfect addition to my wardrobe!
Yesterday my husband and I drove to the Pennsylvania Wilds and drove the Elk Scenic Drive. We made several stops along the way to try and spot the elk, but unfortunately the heat and I think the time of day were not on our side and we were skunked-we didn’t see 1 elk! We still had an amazing time together and the drive is very scenic and beautiful, so if you’re ever in the area I would recommend it! Of course I had to dress the part for our local “safari” and I chose to wear my new Rowdy Tee tucked into these shorts. If you know me you know I’m not a huge fan of shorts (I much prefer skirts or dresses in the summer) but these shorts pass my test and I love them! They look just as chic with a plain white tee or tank top tucked into them as well. I wore my trusty leopard trekky sandals because I wasn’t sure how much walking there would be and these sandals are so incredibly comfortable. I topped it off with large sunglasses and a silk scarf. The silk scarf came in handy in keeping my hair as tame as possible, since we were driving with the windows down all day. All in all it was a fantastic way to start the week even if we didn’t get to see any elk.
