I’m always on the lookout for new yarns to try, especially those that are perfect for warm weather! Wanderlust Tank has become the perfect canvas for experimenting with different fibers and I have decided to use this pattern as a vehicle to explore warm-weather-friendly yarns.
I first came across Desert Bliss DK when Jeanie, the talent behind The Fiber Genie, was test knitting Wanderlust Tank. She was using Desert Bliss DK in the color Feather, a beautiful speckled lavender that instantly caught my eye. Intrigued, I reached out to Jeanie to learn more about her yarn. Desert Bliss DK is a blend of 50% wool and 50% cotton, making it perfect for summer! The wool provides elasticity and wicking, while the cotton adds breathability and a soft, cool feel against the skin. This balanced blend ensures that the fabric is light and comfortable, ideal for a summer tank top.
For my Wanderlust Tank, I chose Desert Bliss DK in the color Fleur. This shade features wonderful pops of greens, pinks, and camel on a neutral creamy background, creating a vibrant and unique speckled effect. The yarn was a dream to work with! Desert Bliss DK brought out the best in Wanderlust Tank, highlighting its versatility and fun style. The pops of color in the Fleur created a playful yet sophisticated look, perfect for pairing with both casual and dressy summer outfits.
