Skylights

Very rarely do I buy yarn without a project in mind, but that was the case with this yarn. I fell in love with the color and snagged a SQ of it last year while I was at what turned out to be my last knitting event before the pandemic hit. It reminded me of cotton candy and although I didn’t have a project in mind at the time I knew I’d think of something. Fast forward to just a couple weeks ago when Tanis released Skylights. As soon as I saw it I knew this yarn would be perfect! I cast on immediately after Tanis said it only took her 3 days to knit. It took me a bit longer, 5 days to be exact. I love how it turned out! I really love the design with the cables, bobbles, and eyelets. Plus it is beyond cozy and I think we can all agree that right now we need more cozy in our lives!

Pattern Modifications:

Gauge was off so I CO for size 2 to achieve a size 1. I also decided to cast on and work neckline instead of picking up sts after the fact. Cast on size 9 needle for collar and worked 1×1 rib for 1”

Switched to size 10.5 for body

I lengthen my body. The body is 4 total repeats +4 rows then worked the 1×1 rib per pattern.

Sleeves:

Knit 58 rows then worked decreases.

Shop my outfit:

Sweater:

Pattern can be found here.

Link to what yarn and needle size I’ve used can be found here.

Pants:

Run don’t walk to snag these amazing SWEATPANTS! Yes, that’s right they’re sweatpants & they’re $20!!!!  (Through 11/11/20 they’re actually on sale for $16!)  They look like dress pants but don’t let that fool you. These pants are the perfect pandemic pants. They look like you’ve put effort in but they are perfect for chilling on the couch. I took my normal size.

Boots:

Sold out but super similar ones still in stock here. They’re slightly shorter but still a great price. I’ve been wearing mine nonstop. They’re super comfy.

Cheers!
