Summer Trellis

When I first saw this sweater I immediately knew I had to knit it. Jill was looking for testers at the time and I sent a message asking if I could test but also expressed my interest in modifying the pattern to make it my own. I was so excited when Jill agreed! (Typically when testing a pattern you shouldn’t modify as you are testing it and need to supply the designer with accurate information. Jill was incredibly kind to let me. Thanks Jill!)
I pictured this as a cropped boxy tee with sleeves that were more fitted. I only had 2 skeins of yarn in stash to work with and I was eager to make it work! I’m just thrilled with how it turned out. It’s perfect over a dress or with any high-waisted bottom! I’ve been wearing it nonstop. Just throw it on and it makes any outfit cuter. If you’re looking for a quick knit to wear all summer long I can’t recommend this design enough!
Pattern Modifications:
Size 32.5” to acheive a size 38″ – I used Sport weight yarn instead of Fingering weight on size 6 needles.
CO 104 sts using long tail CO. Omitted short rows.
On first increase row I adjusted so that I ended up with the correct amount of sts by increasing evenly across the round.
Work Lattice Chart 1
Work Lattice chart 2-I only increased up to 260 sts
Work Lattice chart 3-adjusted the number of sts in between lattices as I only had 260 sts. The lattices will and should still line up properly.
I added some raglan shaping. I find circular yokes fit better when there is some raglan shaping as well. I started the raglan increases on Row 15 of Lattice chart 3.
To work raglan increases I did as follows:
Place markers K45 PM, K41 PM, K89 PM, K41 PM, K44 PM. When you come to the markers increase on EOR I used the KFB method. I worked 10 rows total increasing on EOR. Final stitch count after raglan increases was 50/51/99/51/49 for a total of 300 sts
Separating for the Body and sleeves:
K50, sl next 51sts onto waste yarn, CO3 PM for new BOR, CO3, K99, sl next 51sts onto waste yarn, CO3, PM for side, CO3, K to new BOR marker. Body should have 210 sts.
Knit body for a couple inches then finished sleeves. I did this so I could use every inch of yarn I had left on the body length.
For Sleeves:
PU 4 sts knit off holder and PU 4 more=58sts
Purl one row
BO purlwise
Proceeded with the body once sleeves were finished. I did not do any body increases. Knit the body until 26g of yarn was left. Then I knit the short rows. 26g is needed to do GSRs and finish sweater. Worked 2×2 rib per pattern for .5”. Used every inch of 2 skeins
Measurements:
Yoke depth is 8”
Bust is 38”
Length from underarm is 10”
Outfit #1

Sweater
Sweater pattern can be found here
Dress
I absolutely love the versatility of dresses as you can wear them on their own or throw a crop sweater over top for a completely different look.  The dress can be found here.  Unfortunately it looks like a lot of the sizes are sold out.  It comes in other colors – but if you love this lemon print as much as I do its also available in a skirt and a shorter dress.
Sandals

Love these straw sandals.  They are perfect for summer.  I purchased a half size larger than I typically wear.
Chaco Straw Bag

I was lucky enough to score this bag the first time Joji offered them on her website.  Its not only perfect for holding knitting projects but it makes a great summer handbag.  I believe Joji is going to be offering these again soon.  Her website can be found here where you can find more information.
Earrings

Sold out but similar can be found below:
