http://www.galleriamoitre.com/a8tia64 It’s Valentine’s week and I thought it would be fun to spend the week focusing on some of my favorite pink & red knits! I love combining pink and red together, but they have to be the right shades of each for the colors to work together. Otherwise you could end up with a color combo that is just too similar and therefore off. When pairing these two colors I find they work best when the red is a true saturated red and when the pink is a true pink and not a red leaning pink. You want them to have enough contrast so that each color pops.

https://www.beecavebee.com/82kwfe9 First up is my Palladium wrap. I was lucky enough to test knit this beautiful wrap.  Palladium is definitely a knit that I’m very proud of. The instructions were only charted and the charts were huge! I literally had to use all my concentration and focus to follow them, but boy was it worth it! The intricate lace design combined with ribbing and fringe make it a truly show-stopping piece. Plus no one can miss me coming in this giant pink wrap lol!  Of course with it being Valentine’s week I had to keep things festive with these heart shaped sunglasses.  I bought them a few years ago and they add such fun whimsy to any outfit regardless if its Valentine’s Day or not. They even come in kid’s size so of course I had to buy a pair for my niece so we could match! My sweater is the Naadam $75 cashmere sweater in color “holly red“. (I styled the “cement” one here.) The quality and softness is fantastic and yes it truly is only $75 for a 100% cashmere sweater! They also have some adorable heart themed cashmere pieces that I’ll link below in the “Shop the Post”. This dog sweater is especially adorable! I finished my look off with my Spells of Love Alia hoops and my much loved Grenson boots.  I just love these boots. They are such great quality and so comfortable. I also love that Grenson is more of a core collection brand with generally the same style available year after year, thus assuring your boots will never go “out of style.” I try to seek out brands with core collections like this when I’m going to buy a more expensive item. Nothing is worse than saving up for something, buying it, and then feeling like your item is “out of style” at the end of the season. It’s one of the reasons I was so drawn to the Naadam $75 cashmere sweaters. They are also a core collection for that company. I’m hoping more brands will adopt this philosophy as well. Since we as consumers are moving away from the “fast fashion” throw away clothes of the past and instead focusing on quality pieces that we can wear for years to come! It’s one of the reasons why I love knitting so much; year after year my knitted pieces still remain fresh and relevant.
